Thanks to Kim Stubbs for providing us with a summary of last night's Stay and Play:
"A few Edmonton and area music teachers gathered together at Michael Strembitsky School for a quick tour through the Orff Music for Children volumes. Our hour flew quickly by as we played through some selections in volume 1, including 'Tommy Tucker', 'Ding Dong, Diggi Diggi Dong' and a canon for voice or instrument. We enjoyed diving into and putting together the various parts, hearing how wonderful these intricate, yet very doable these selections are. Perhaps our favourite was 'Street Song' from volume 3. What a great way to teach our division 2 students about chord progressions! Our thanks to Kim Friesen-Wiens for putting this event together, and showing us that the lovely pieces in the volumes are accessible, valuable and certainly fun!" Hello Alberta Orff Chapter Members!
