2/8/2015

Picture
Randy & Jeff are famous for their Gameplan series.  As we anticipate their workshop on February 21st, we would like to take the time to highlight some of their other publications.

Click "Read More," to learn about the new additions to the library for February, this month featuring the works of Randy & Jeff.

Please contact Lorna, our Chapter librarian for these and other resources available to all members:  library@albertaorff.ca.

Check Out these brand new resources, recently purchased for the Judy Sills Library:

Tyme For A Rhyme is a collection of twenty nursery rhymes with music for children. Appropriate for kindergarten through third grade, the activities include detailed processes, objectives, and a lesson focus. This collection of kid-tested activities is for primary Orff Schulwerk classes.

A few words from Randy & Jeff...

Tyme For A Rhyme is the first in a trilogy of nursery rhyme collections arranged for Orff Schulwerk classes. The activities are organized into three conceptual areas supporting rhythm, melody, and harmony.

2nd Rhyme Around is a collection of twenty-one nursery rhymes with music for children. Inspired by Tyme For A Rhyme, this collection is appropriate for children in preschool through third grade. All activities include the teaching process as well as objectives and suggested grade levels.

A few words from Randy & Jeff...

Second Rhyme Around is our second collection of nursery rhymes also organized by conceptual areas. If you flip through the book quickly, you'll see Humpty Dumpty falling off the wall.

Making the Most of the Holidays is a collection of twenty holiday pieces that include detailed processes, objectives, and suggested grade levels. Written for elementary aged children, the activities incorporate speech, movement, instruments, and song for Orff Schulwerk classes..

A few words from Randy & Jeff...

We wanted to provide music teachers with seasonal activities that introduce or reinforce specific musical objectives maintaining the integrity of the curriculum while affording students a chance to celebrate the holidays.
Other resources from Kid Sound Publications (authored by Randy and Jeff) already in our library include

  • 5 Golden Rings

  • Encore

  • Gameplan Grade 1 and Grade 2

These resources and many more, will be available for sign-out at the Chapter Workshop, February 21.
