Upcoming Workshop on May 3rd - Some Important Notes

Read Now

Greetings Alberta Orff Members and Friends!

We are so excited about the upcoming Sharing Day Workshop on Saturday May 3, 2014! The workshop will feature many relevant topics to teaching music in the 21st century. See the attached brochure for all the important registration details. Please notice that we are bringing back the popular "Bring a Friend for Free!" for this workshop so if you know of any music teachers or classroom teachers who might be interested and are not registered with the Chapter, we invite you to bring them along! Please RSVP to susan.funke@gmail.com so that we can plan for numbers for the lunch that is included in the workshop.
For this workshop, we ask that you try to arrive 10 minutes early as we are calling a General Meeting that will begin at 8:50 a.m. the morning of the workshop. In the general meeting we will be calling for a Special Resolution for some amendments to our bylaws. The amendments will not functionally change any way that the Chapter currently functions but are necessary in order for the Chapter to become incorporated as a not-for-profit Society. Incorporation status will help make us eligible for some Arts grants that we are interested in pursuing.

In a recent email sent to members is a summary of the proposed changes to the bylaws. If you have any questions regarding these proposed changes to the bylaws prior to the general meeting, feel free to contact me at mrsohlmann@gmail.com and I would be happy to answer them. We will also have time for discussion and questions at the general meeting.

We are so looking forward to seeing you at the May 3rd workshop! We hope that you and your friends register and that you also take advantage of the Bring a Friend for Free option. Let's have a great turnout for this exciting Conference Style workshop!

Sincerely,
Connie Ohlmann
President, Alberta Orff Chapter
