We are pleased to present Sherryl Sewepagaham for the first workshop of our fantastic 2014-2015 season. Drum, Dance, Chant will take place Saturday October 4th at Westboro Elementary school in Sherwood Park.  Registration will start at 8:30 am with the workshop beginning at 9:00 am.

Sherryl Sewepagaham will share some of the songs and dances of the First Nations and Métis people.    Workshop participants will also learn Orff approaches developed by Sherryl in her own practice.  Please "Read More" to find out additional details regarding this exciting opportunity!

Workshop Description

Join Sherryl Sewepagaham and learn some of the songs and dances of the First Nations and Métis people. You will learn original and social traditional language and chant songs using hand drums, sticks, and rattles. Sherryl has also taught the Orff methodology in her classroom and will share some of those activities that she has developed. Bring a recording device as many of the songs are taught in the traditional style of “oral tradition” so that you can share with your students.
