Orff-Schulwerk Courses: July 21st to August 1st at the University of Alberta

This will be an exciting two weeks for all of those who registered for Orff courses happening at the University of Alberta.  With classes starting tomorrow, July 21st, Levels I and III Pedagogy classes will be running this year.  Sue Harvie is teaching Level I with Bob de Frece taking the reigns for Level III.  Wendy Rae is back teaching recorder and Kim Friesen Wiens will be teaching movement and dance.
Course Participants:
Please considering reading onward because there are some insights that could be interesting to you regarding the next couple of weeks.  Read on to find out about our presence on Facebook and about the Judy Sills Library of Music that will be set up for you.  Finally check out the image gallery to see what the space looks like.

Chapter Members:
You are invited to join in the choral sessions that are held almost daily.  Please read on to find out dates and times.

Anyone Else:
If you are merely inquisitive about Orff-Schulwerk courses in general, please read on.

Dear Course Participants,

At the completion of the course I would love to hear your insights and thoughts about your experiences.  I would also love to see any pictures you may take during the course.  At any time during the course, you can email your thoughts and pictures to me.  At the end of the course, I will compile your thoughts and pictures here on this blog.

The Judy Sills Library of Music

The Alberta Orff Chapter library is open for the next couple of weeks.  If you are taking the course, please do not hesitate to use this resource.  It's right beside the recorder room.

Please note that you must be a member of any Carl Orff Canada Chapter to use the library.  Please keep in mind that materials must be returned upon the completion of the course.

Choral Hour

Chapter Members are invited to participate in Choral Hour!

Please note the following dates and times:

Monday, July 21st to Friday, July 25th: 
Every day from 3:20 pm to 4:15 pm
Room 464 Ed South

Monday, July 28th and Tuesday, 29th: 
3:20 pm to 4:15 pm
Room 464 Ed South

No choral hour Wednesday July 30th

Thursday July 31st 
3:15 pm to 4:14 pm
4th Floor Atrium Ed North
Please note:
The course participants will be taking photos first so expect it to start a little later.

Friday August 1 is the final day so the course participants will be presenting their sharing session.
1:30 pm to 3:00 pm
